DESCRIPTION:
Portrait of a Joseph, according to the New Testament, is the husband of Mary and the putative father of Jesus. Defined in the Gospel according to Matthew as a just man, he is revered as a saint by the Catholic Church and by the Orthodox Church and was declared patron of the Catholic Church by Blessed Pius IX December 8, 1870. Jesus, Mary and Joseph make up the Holy Family.
