John Howard Hinton (1791–1873) was a prominent English clergyman, theologian, and writer of the 19th century. He is known for his writings on religious topics and social ethics, including works that applied Christian ethics to everyday life. Hinton was also an active abolitionist and advocate for the rights of slaves, with his publications including arguments against slavery. His works in religious philosophy and social reform made a significant impact on the spiritual and intellectual life of his time.
