Magnificent hand-coloredspider print originating from the work ”A history of the spiders of Great Britain and Ireland” by John Blackwall, published for the Ray Society by Robert Hardwicke in London 1861-1864. John Blackwall (1790-1881) was a pioneering arachnologist, correspondent of Charles Darwin, and one of the first naturalists to be interested in spiders of very small sizes.
