Portrait of Xylander is the Hellenized name by which the 16th-century German Hellenistic humanist Wilhelm Holtzmann is known. Studied in Tübingen, taught in Heidelberg. He was the first to publish such important Greek texts as the historical chronicle of Georgy Kedrin and the book of Marcus Aurelius "To himself" in his Latin translation.
