Portrait of Paul von Fuchs (1640-1704), Minister of Brandenburg. Was a professor at Duisburg; in 1670 he became cabinet secretary of the great elector, whom he accompanied in all campaigns and travels. He was entrusted with the execution of many important diplomatic missions both under the German sovereigns, and under the Prince of Orange and the States General, with whom he entered into a new alliance in 1685. In 1688, he led secret negotiations on the participation of Brandenburg in the English. Expeditions of William III of Orange.
