DESCRIPTION:
Portrait of Carl Linnaeus (1707-1778) Swedish naturalist (botanist, zoologist, mineralogist) and physician. Studied at Lund, then Uppsala University. In 1732, he made a scientific trip to Lapland alone, covering more than 2,000 km in five months. For several years he lived in Holland, where he defended his doctoral dissertation and published a number of botanical and general biological works, which in a short time made him famous throughout the world. From 1741 until the end of his life he was a professor at Uppsala University.
