DESCRIPTION:
Anders Zorn. After. "Sangpallen", lithographic print after etching, signed in print. The etching technique attracted Anders Zorn (1860-1920) and the etchings greatly contributed to his success. With Rembrandt as a model, he developed a technique where he built up the motif with bursts of strokes. The first etching was added in London in 1883. Axel Herman Hägg (1835-1921), then active in London, was Zorn's teacher in this special technique. Zorn quickly acquired the etching technique itself and the first etching was a portrait of the teacher Hägg.
